Our Impact: Funded Projects
Life-Saving Equipment, Funded by You
Thanks to the generosity of the El Dorado community, the Association has funded the purchase of critical life-saving equipment for our volunteer responders. The investments below represent equipment that directly improves patient outcomes, prevents responder injuries, and brings our capabilities in line with the highest standards in emergency medicine.
LIFEPAK 35 Monitor/Defibrillator
Manufacturer: Stryker — Product details at Stryker.com →
The LIFEPAK 35 is a clinically advanced monitor/defibrillator built for demanding pre-hospital environments. With a high-definition 10.4” touchscreen and built-in clinical decision support tools, it reduces the cognitive burden on responders during the most critical moments of cardiac care.
Why It Matters
- Better CPR outcomes: cprINSIGHT technology analyzes chest compressions in real time, helping responders minimize pauses and maintain optimal depth and rate — directly improving cardiac arrest survival rates.
- On-scene cardiac diagnosis: Live 12/15-lead ECG with STJ Insight identifies myocardial injury on scene, enabling faster activation of hospital cardiac teams and better patient outcomes.
- Built for the field: IP55-rated against dust and water with chemically strengthened, impact-tested glass engineered to survive direct drops and impacts.
- Extended operation: FLEX dual lithium-ion battery system delivers nine hours of continuous monitoring — essential for prolonged incidents or difficult extractions.
- Pediatric-ready: Dedicated pediatric AED mode with escalating energy levels from 1J to 360J for patients of any age.
- Hospital connectivity: WiFi and Bluetooth transmit patient data to receiving facilities before arrival, shortening the time to definitive care.
Stryker Power-LOAD Cot Fastener System
Manufacturer: Stryker — Product details at Stryker.com →
The Power-LOAD is a powered cot fastener system that transforms ambulance loading and unloading from a high-risk manual task into a controlled, automated process. It wirelessly communicates with the Power-PRO XT cot to guide and secure the stretcher throughout the entire load cycle.
Why It Matters
- Protects our responders: Steering a loaded cot into an ambulance is one of the highest-risk movements in EMS. The Power-LOAD eliminates that manual effort, dramatically reducing cumulative spinal loading and the career-ending back injuries that come with it.
- Prevents patient drops: The system maintains positive cot support until the wheels contact the ground, removing the critical moment when accidental drops most often occur.
- Crash-tested security: Meets dynamic crash test safety standards — the cot stays locked and level even in sudden stops or collisions.
- Failsafe design: A manual backup system ensures the unit remains fully operable under any circumstances.
- Seamless integration: Works wirelessly with the Power-PRO XT for a coordinated, single-system loading experience.
Stryker Power-PRO XT Powered Ambulance Cot
Manufacturer: Stryker — Product details at Stryker.com →
The Power-PRO XT is the industry standard in powered ambulance cots. Its battery-powered hydraulic system raises and lowers the cot at the push of a button, eliminating manual lifting at the moments most likely to injure EMS providers.
Why It Matters
- Eliminates high-risk lifting: Hydraulic power handles all cot elevation automatically, protecting our volunteers from the cumulative back and shoulder injuries that represent one of the leading causes of EMS disability nationwide.
- Improved patient care: When providers are not struggling with equipment, they can keep both hands and full attention on the patient.
- Smooth patient experience: Controlled, steady elevation provides a stable, comfortable transition for patients of all sizes and conditions.
- Maneuverability in tight spaces: The retractable head section and Steer-Lock allow navigation in confined hallways, bedrooms, and the varied terrain of our response district.
- Dependable reliability: SMRT Battery Kit monitoring and a manual backup ensure the cot is always ready to go.
O-Two e700 Electronic Transport Ventilator
Manufacturer: O-Two Medical Technologies — Product details at OTwo.com →
The e700 is an electronically controlled, pneumatically powered transport ventilator supporting the full spectrum of pre-hospital ventilation — from basic airway management to complex critical care transport. Compact and lightweight at just 2.4 kg, it delivers hospital-grade ventilation in the field.
Why It Matters
- Full ventilation mode support: Supports A/C (Volume and Pressure Control), SIMV with PSV, BiLevel with PSV, CPAP, Mask CPR, and Intubated CPR modes — providing the right strategy for each patient and situation.
- 18+ hours of battery life: Extended operation on a single charge, with hot-swappable batteries that never require shutting the device down mid-transport.
- Fast deployment: Initial start-up requires only selecting patient size — critical during high-stress resuscitation when every second counts.
- Altitude compensation: Automatically adjusts for elevations up to 4,000 meters. At Santa Fe’s 7,000-foot elevation and across the varied terrain of our district, this is not a luxury — it is a necessity.
- Comprehensive safety alarms: Visual and audible alarms for airway pressure, minute volume, apnea, circuit integrity, gas supply, and battery status keep providers immediately informed of any change in patient status.
- Full patient range: Handles large adults through infants, with tidal volumes from 50 to 2,000 ml and ventilation rates from 5 to 60 BPM.
Help Us Do More
None of this would be possible without the generosity of our neighbors. If you would like to help fund future equipment purchases, training programs, or operational needs, please consider making a donation to the Association.
