About the Association
Who We Are
The El Dorado Fire Rescue Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in the State of New Mexico. We exist for one purpose: to support El Dorado Fire Rescue and the volunteer men and women who protect our community around the clock.
Our Mission
The Association supports the mission of El Dorado Fire Rescue through community engagement, fundraising, and advocacy. We believe that a safe community depends on well-equipped, well-trained volunteer responders — and we work every day to make that possible.
What We Do
Public funding through Santa Fe County covers the basics, but modern emergency services demand more. The Association bridges that gap by:
- Raising funds through community donations, events, and grants
- Purchasing capital equipment — medical devices, rescue tools, and safety gear
- Supporting member training and professional development
- Building community awareness and advocacy for our volunteer department
Our History
Founded in 1976 alongside El Dorado Fire Rescue, the Association has been part of this community from the very beginning. Over five decades, generous neighbors have made it possible for our volunteers to respond with the tools and training they need to save lives and protect property.
The Association operates entirely through community generosity. There are no paid staff — every dollar raised goes directly toward the department's needs.
